Chandigarh, March 28, 2025 (Bharat Khabarnama Bureau) Aiming to facilitate and ensure comfortable environment for working women the Punjab government would construct six Working Women Hostels in the state.
This was expressed today in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha by the Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur, while responding to a question raised by MLA Kulwant Singh.
She informed that these hostels would be established in Mohali, Jalandhar, Amritsar, and Bathinda districts. Out of these, three hostels would be built in Mohali and one each in Jalandhar, Amritsar, and Bathinda at a cost of around Rs 150 crore.
She further added that the these hotels would provide residential facilities to approximately 800 working women and the construction work would be expected to commence by May this and to be completed by March next year.
