Chandigarh, April 4, 2025 (Bharat Khabarnama Bureau) – In a late-night bureaucratic reshuffle, the Punjab government on Friday ordered a key police transfer, appointing Harvinder Singh Virk as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Jalandhar Rural district.
The state home department’s order states that Harvinder Singh Virk (PPS), currently serving as Zonal AIG of CID in Patiala, will replace Gurmit Singh (PPS) as Jalandhar Rural SSP. In a reciprocal move, Gurmit Singh has been transferred to Virk’s former position at CID Patiala. The department has directed both officers to assume their new responsibilities immediately.
