Chandigarh, May 18, 2025 (Bharat Khabarnama Bureau) The Punjab government has revoked the suspension orders of two Punjab Police Service (PPS) officers, Swarandeep Singh and Harpreet Singh Mander, with immediate effect. The officers, who were suspended on April 25, 2025, have now been reinstated to their previous positions.

According to the orders issued by the state’s Home Affairs Department, Swarandeep Singh will resume his role as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of the Flying Squad, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab, in SAS Nagar, while Harpreet Singh Mander will return as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of the Vigilance Bureau’s Jalandhar range. The government has also clarified that their suspension period will be treated as on-duty service.

Mentionably, the two officers were suspended weeks ago in connection with alleged lapses during an investigation into a purported scam in the state’s transport department. The action was part of a broader crackdown that also saw the suspension of Vigilance Bureau chief and ADGP Surinderpal Singh Parmar.

However, following a departmental inquiry, the suspensions of Mander and Swarandeep Singh have been overturned. Both officers have been directed to resume their duties immediately.
