Chandigarh, May 7, 2025 (Bharat Khabarnama Bureau) – Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on Wednesday, administered the oath of office to Major General (Retired) Vinayak Saini as the new Chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Patiala in a ceremony held at Punjab Raj Bhawan. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann graced the occasion, extending his best wishes to the newly appointed chairman.
Chief Secretary KAP Sinha conducted the proceedings of the solemn swearing-in event.
On the occasion CM Mann congratulated Major General (Retired) Saini and assured full support to the PPSC in ensuring a transparent and merit-based selection process for various government posts.
A decorated officer commissioned into the Corps of Engineers in December 1987, Major General (Retired) Saini hails from Hoshiarpur and is currently settled in Mohali. He retired from the Indian Army in October last year after a distinguished service tenure. The ceremony was attended by Cabinet Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Principal Secretary to the Governor VP Singh, Principal Secretary to the CM Ravi Bhagat and other senior officials.
