Chandigarh, February 24, 2025 (Bharat Khabarnama Bureau) – The Punjab government has issued transfer and posting orders for eight IAS officers, including five Deputy Commissioners, as part of an administrative reshuffle.

The AAP-led state government has been making frequent transfers in recent days, aiming to appoint officers with clean reputations to key positions while reassigning those linked to controversies.

Among the transferred officers is the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of SBS Nagar, who was reportedly involved in a multi crore land compensation scam in Mohali’s Bakarpur village. His name had surfaced alongside two other senior officers/their wives in connection with the fraudulent compensation claims for guava orchard on PUDA-acquired land.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau had investigated the matter, alleging that fake documents were used to claim compensation. When seeking anticipatory bail from the High Court, the officers reportedly refunded the compensation amount to the state treasury.

Notably, the officer has not been assigned a new posting in the latest transfer list.
