SAS Nagar, March 4, 2025 (Bharat Khabarnama Bureau) — A Mohali court has issued non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against three individuals, including 42-year-old self-styled preacher Pastor Bajinder Singh, founder of the Church of Glory and Wisdom at village Tajpur in Jalandhar district. The warrants were issued following their failure to appear in court concerning a 2018 sexual harassment case registered at the Zirakpur police station.
Pastor Bajinder Singh was arrested on July 20, 2018, at Delhi airport while attempting to board a flight to London, following allegations of rape by a woman from Zirakpur. The victim alleged that Pastor raped her at his residence in Sector 63, Mohali, and recorded the act, threatening to release the video if she reported the incident. This self styled pastor was later released on bail. The court has also issued NBWs against his aides, Sandeep Pehlwan and Akbar Ali, due to their non-appearance in the ongoing trial.
Kapurthala police have registered a new case
In a related development, the Kapurthala police have registered a new case against the Pastor based on a complaint filed by a 22-year-old woman. The complainant alleges that Bajinder, whom she met in 2017, engaged in inappropriate behavior, including sending lewd messages and making unwanted advances since she was 17. She further claims that pastor pressured her to marry him, stalked her, and threatened harm to her family if she disclosed his actions. The victim stated that pastor would make her sit alone in his cabin during Sunday congregations in 2022, where he allegedly touched her inappropriately.
The Kapurthala police have registered an FIR against Bajinder Singh under Sections 354-A (sexual harassment), 354-D (stalking), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. Investigations are ongoing, and Pastor has yet to be arrested in connection with these new allegations.
Pastor Bajinder Singh, originally hails from Haryana, converted to Christianity while incarcerated in a murder case approximately 15 years ago. He established the Church of Glory and Wisdom in Tajpur village, Jalandhar, in 2012, gaining popularity for his claims of miracle healing and curing ailments through prayer. Despite his growing following, he has faced multiple controversies, including previous allegations of sexual misconduct and financial improprieties.
Members of the Christian community have staged protests, asserting that the recent allegations are part of a conspiracy against Pastor Bajinder Singh. Supporters claim that the complainant has had no association with the church for the past three years and that the accusations lack evidence. They have called for a thorough investigation into the matter.
The court proceedings in Mohali and the ongoing investigation in Kapurthala continue to unfold, drawing significant public attention.
