Moga Shiv Sena worker murder case ; Three accused injured during Police encounter within 24 hours

Chandigarh, March 15, 2025 (Bharat Khabarnama Bureau) In a swift and decisive operation, police teams from Moga and Malout have jointly conducted an encounter resulting in the arrest of three accused involved in the murder of Shiv Sena worker from Moga city named Mangat Ram. The operation, carried out within 24 hours of the crime led to an exchange of fire between the police and the accused leaving all three injured.
The incident stems from an FIR No. 64/2025, registered under sections 103(1), 191(3), 190 of Bharat Nayaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act at police station city South, Moga following the murder of Mangat Ram, a prominent Shiv Sena worker in Moga. During the attempt to arrest the accused a joint team from CIA Moga and CIA Malout cordoned off the suspects at their hideout.
The accused have been identified as Arun alias Deepu son of Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Angadpura Mohalla, Moga city, Arun alias Singha, son of Babbu Singh, resident of Angadpura Mohalla, Moga city and Rajveer alias Laddo, son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Vedant Nagar, in Moga city.
As per the information provided by the police, the accused opened fire at the police team during the operation, prompting retaliatory action. In the ensuing exchange, Arun alias Deepu sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg, Arun alias Singha was shot in his right leg, and Rajveer alias Laddo sustained injuries while attempting to flee. All three were rushed to Civil Hospital Malout for their treatment.
The accused had earlier posted a video on social media claiming responsibility for the murderalleging that Mangat Ram had extorted lakhs of rupees from them and subjected them to physical abuse.
The encounter has drawn significant attention, with locals praising the police for their prompt action. Police sources say further investigations are underway to uncover additional details about the crime and the accused’s motives.
