Residents can access 406 services through helpline 1076 sitting at home
Chandigarh, April 5, 2025 (Bharat Khabarnama Bureau)- Punjab Good Governance and Information Technology Minister Aman Arora today directed officials to complete the onboarding of all Sarpanches, Nambardars and Municipal Councillors (MCs) by April 30, 2025 to streamline delivery of online services in a transparent manner.
Chairing a meeting of the Board of Governors of Punjab State e-Governance Society (PSeGS), Arora said this initiative would enable 43,321 local representatives to verify applications and certificates online, reducing the need for citizens to make physical visits.
Additional Chief Secretary of Good Governance and Information Technology Vikas Pratap informed that over 41,000 login IDs had already been created, covering about 95 percent of the total. He assured that the remaining onboarding would be completed this month.
Aman Arora announced that the state government has reduced doorstep delivery charges from Rs. 120 to Rs. 50 to make citizen services more accessible. Under Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, residents can now access 406 services by simply calling helpline number 1076 from their homes.
The Minister said Punjab State e-Governance Society is implementing various reforms and IT solutions to improve governance and ensure transparent service delivery. The Board reviewed progress of key projects including eSewa, Public Grievance Redressal System, RTI Portal, mSewa, State Admission Portal, Connect portal and Visitor Pass Management System.
The meeting was attended by Director Good Governance Girish Dayalan, Director Local Government Deepti Uppal, Ghanshyam Thori, Jaspreet Singh and other senior officers of the department.
