DSP arrested in Faridkot for bribing police official

Faridkot, July 4, 2025 (Bharat Khabarnama Bureau)- In a major crackdown on corruption, the Faridkot district police have on Friday arrested Rajan Pal, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), posted in the Crime Against Women cell, Faridkot for allegedly attempting to bribe police officials to dismiss a corruption. 

The accused DSP has reportedly offered a bribe of Rs 1 lakh to settle a corruption complaint lodged against him. According to sources, he tried to influence officials at the SSP office to get the case closed. 

Acting swiftly, the Faridkot Police registered an FIR in this regard under the prevention of corruption act and arrested the DSP. Authorities have also ordered departmental action against the officer. Further investigations are underway.  

This arrest underscores the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward corruption and sends a strong message to officials indulging in unethical practices.
